A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional certified in behavior analysis. RBTs assist in delivering behavior analysis services and practice under the direction and, close supervision of an RBT Supervisor and or an RBT Requirements Coordinator, who is responsible for all work RBTs perform.There are many benefits to obtaining RBT certification, including:• It shows that you have met specific requirements that are critical in delivering behavior analysis services.• It provides increased consumer protection since you must meet specific eligibility and maintenance requirements to obtain and maintain certification.• It makes it easier for employers, funders, consumers to verify that you have specific knowledge, skills, and abilities, have appropriate oversight and, are not under disciplinary sanctions.• All RBT applicants are required to complete a 40-hour training based on the RBT Task List (2nd ed.).
